This is a time for us to prepare a place in our hearts for the Christ child. It is a time to be with friends and to reach out to those we do not really know. Please remember this as you prepare to be a hostess for a table and please save at least one seat for a special guest.
Cost is $40 per table (the Hostess and 7 guests) which the Hostess can either pay in advance, at the event or she may have each of her guests pay $5. You may not have 7 guests to invite, so you may leave seats available for open seating attendees at your table.
Hostesses will decorate their table with a Catholic Tradition. Hostesses may choose any tradition that reflects the Advent season. Please no holiday Santas, snowmen, etc. Some examples of Catholic Traditions are the Advent Wreath, an empty manger, Jesse tree, St. Nicholas Day, the Christ candle, the Mary candle, St. Lucy cakes, the Nativity scene, and the Great O’s.
THE USE OF TAPER CANDLES IS PROHIBITED. PLEASE USE CANDLES THAT ARE IN OR ON A CONTAINER. They will be allowed in the centerpiece or around it. Remember that the table is to be decorated to reflect the Advent season.
A white tablecloth will be available if you wish to use it, or you may bring your own. You may also want to bring a topper, runner and/or placemats.
The Women’s Guild will provide the brunch food items, coffee and wassail. You may bring an item for the buffet table if you wish.
Hostesses are to provide table settings for eight (8): plates, cups and saucers, water glasses, forks, spoons and napkins. You may use any type of dinnerware you wish including festive plastic ware or china and a carafe for coffee and wassail.
Tables will be available for decorating on Tuesday from 2:00 – 7:00 pm and Wednesday morning from 8:00 - 9:00 am. Program begins at 10:00am so please ask your guests to arrive by this time.
Hostesses are responsible for taking their dirty non-disposable dinnerware with them to clean at home. There will be no kitchen clean up available.
Dress is church attire.
We wish to thank you for serving as a Hostess and look forward to a morning of faith and fellowship.
