[On Jan. 1, 2002, the Catholic Diocese of Austin instated policies on Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM). EIM compliance is required of all clergy, religious, seminarians, diocesan employees, parish and Catholic school employees, and adult lay persons who volunteer in ministry with minors or vulnerable adults, or in any ministry, program or organization that serves youth or vulnerable adults in any manner, or functions at a time and place where they are typically present.]
The Catholic Diocese of Austin has instated additional policies on Ethics and Integrity in Ministry compliance.
In addition to those already required:
Clergy
parish and Catholic school employees
religious education volunteers
youth ministry
Boy and Girl Scout Leaders
and child care providers,
all volunteers in parish/school ministries and organizations must be compliant.
These include:
Parish Leadership Councils (Pastoral and Finance)
Adult Liturgical Ministers (Choir Members, Lectors, Ushers, Communion Ministers and Sacristans)
Knights of Columbus Members
Women’s Guild
To be compliant, one submits an EIM Application for Ministry on the Diocese of Austin Website (virtus.org) one time only and attends an EIM Workshop every three years. Thank you for your cooperation. Please call the church office at (979) 822-2721 with questions.
