FOCCUS is a self-diagnostic inventory designed to help couples learn more about themselves and their unique relationship. It is not a test. There are no questions, only statements that the person may Agree, Disagree, or be Uncertain about. It is not a test nor is it meant to be a predictor of success or failure in marriage; rather, it is a tool to help couples define and work through specific issues before marriage. We ask couples to be completely honest in their responses to the statements.
FOCCUS (Facilitating Open Couple Communication, Understanding and Study) provides individualized couple feedback on where each partner stands in regard to topic areas important to marriage. The results of the inventory point to issues or areas that may need to be addressed.
After completing FOCCUS, the couple will then schedule follow-up meetings that aim to assess their relationship. Generally, there are between 2-4 follow-up meetings held by either one of the deacons or priests.
